Altoona Campus Aquatic Classes

Learning to swim can help you stay safe around water. Exercising in water is low-impact way to get and stay physically fit at any age, even if you have mobility issues or injuries. Work on your skills and challenge yourself in one of our fun group exercise classes, or become certified to lifeguard, teach, or SCUBA dive with our convenient and affordable training programs.

“Aquatic High intensity interval Training!” Intervals for 20sec with 10sec rests. 4 minutes per round, 8 rounds per class. Increase your metabolic rate and burn calories for up to 72 hours after class! It’s a “Hiit!”
A great way to start the day. The instructor breaks the mold by switching up the equipment use, water depth and skill levels on a monthly basis. Early birds unite!
Low impact fun for every activity level. Find unique ways to create resistance using beach-balls, noodles, kickboards, water toys, and dance moves. Themed activities with music to match.
Shallow water toning, balance, stretching, cardio and resistance work. Work at your own pace. Smaller, faster moves = toning. Bigger, slower moves = strength.

Intense! Fast-paced, calorie-busting, heart-pumping workouts! Combine cardio work for endurance and strength work for muscle stability and kick it up a notch!
Cardio/resistance training in the water! A fun-filled 45 minute class with great music, good friends, and fun moves. Set your own pace … high or low. We will help you. A great weekend blast-off!
Warm up and stretching – 15 mins of cardio – 15 mins of strength and conditioning – cool down and stretch to finish. Well-balanced, well prepared, well-presented.

Our Whirlpool is one of the biggest in the area. The normal water temperature is 104 (degrees F). Hours of availability are: Monday – Friday: 5.00am – 9.00pm Saturdays: 7.00am – 12noon Sundays: 9.00am – 6.00pm For health and safety reasons, weekly cleaning and maintenance is required . During this time we will drain and sanitize the entire filter system, refilling and re-opening as soon as possible. Our goal is to minimize any inconvenience to users.
