April brings a variety of events.

March madness pours on into April with the final four set for this weekend with the championship on April 8, 2019.

Baseball has begun. Opening day was technically in March, but April means baseball is HERE!

Spring has sprung.  There is an old saying “April showers bring May flowers” and judging by the amount of rain we have had, we should have great May flowers.   As I drive by different businesses, I see they are getting their garden centers put together.  Some, such as Lowe’s already have their plants out.  I think it might be a little early as we could see some lows in the 30’s next week.  Many people will be gardening as soon as it turns nice.  Gardening does provide good exercise for our bodies.

April also means TAXES!  You have until April 15th to file your federal income tax.  The IRS recommends filing electronically in order to get your refund (if you have one) quicker.  It is quicker and safer to get your refund automatically deposited into your bank account.  You could have your refund in three weeks instead of waiting six weeks or longer for a check to come by mail.

April, 2019 brings us a very late Easter.  Easter can fall between March 22nd and April 25th.  Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday following the first full moon of the spring equinox.  2019 brought us a full moon on the March 20, however, according to Christian Church calendars, the equinox occurs on March 21st, so the next full moon is April 19th, putting Easter on April 21, 2019.  Let’s hope the weather warms up for Easter egg hunts that are planned.  The Campus does close for Easter Sunday.

As you can see, April brings a variety of events to each person.

Happy Gardening, Happy Tax Day, Happy Easter and I hope your bracket team wins the NCAA!!!
